William Upton QC CC
Will was called to the Bar by Inner Temple in 1990 and specialises in planning, environmental and local government law. He has always been interested in promoting sustainable development and better environmental quality. He has served on the UK Environmental Law Association committee, and was an officer on the committee of the Planning, Local Government and Environment Bar Association. Much of his recent work has been in London and the South East, and has included advising some of the tenants of Smithfield Market. He is a tenant at Stephen Hockman QC’s Chambers in the Temple at 6 Pump Court. Will took Silk in 2019.
Will was elected as a City Councillor on 23 March 2017 and has been serving on the
Planning and Transportation Committee, the Local Plan and the Streets and Walkways sub-
committees. He is currently Deputy Chair of the Hampstead Heath, Highgate Wood and Queen’s Park Committee.
