Deputy Edward Lord OBE JP
Edward is a long-term City resident, a non-executive director of several companies and public bodies, and a consultant specialising in stakeholder engagement and governance.
Elected a City Councillor in 2001, he has chaired the City’s Licensing and Standards Committees and is now Deputy Chairman of the Establishment Committee and a member of the senior Policy and Resources Committee. He was a leading member of the Local Government Association from 2004 to 2013, including holding the equality and social inclusion portfolio.
Edward read for the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP, but to his shame remains only a student member of Middle Temple after real life intervened in his studies. He engages his passion for justice by sitting as a magistrate in central London and in the appellate jurisdiction of the Crown Court.
He was appointed an OBE in the 2011 Birthday Honours List for public service, particularly in relation to equality and diversity.
Edward was recently appointed by Alderman Gregory Jones QC as one of his two Deputies, having previously served in that role under Alderman Simon Walsh until May 2013.
