George started working at Smithfield Market straight out of school and has built up his international trading business which now has an annual turnover of almost £55 million, employing 75 staff. He was elected as a Common Councilman in 2000 and currently sits on the Port Health & Environmental Services Committee and Epping Forest and Commons Committee, of which he was Deputy Chairman from 2014 to 2016. George is also a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Butchers
