Local healthcare campaigner and chairman of the City of London’s Health Scrutiny Committee Wendy Mead OBE CC is calling on Barts Health NHS Trust to significantly enhance urgent care services at St Bartholmew’s Hospital.
Bart’s currently has no A&E facilities, just a minor injuries unit open Monday to Friday during office hours. With an ever increasing number of residents, workers, and visitors in our local area, Wendy and the Temple and Farringdon Together team want to see a full urgent care and primary care centre at Bart’s. In the meantime, the existing minor injuries unit should be better publicised and open seven days a week from 7am to 7 pm.
Wendy said:
“As the former chairman of the Save Bart’s Campaign, I’m proud of our fantastic local hospital. But it needs to better serve local people by enhancing urgent and primary care facilities.”
Wendy raised this yesterday evening with the Chief Executive of Barts Health NHS Trust.
